New geriatric emergency department

Since November 1st, 2016, Geneva University Hospitals have had the doors of their non life-threatening geriatric emergency department open, located within the Hospital des Trois-Chêne in Thonex.

Swiss Ambulance Rescue ambulances commonly bring their eligible patients to this new establishment.

This emergency department accommodates elderly patients over 75 years old who are in non life-threatening emergency situations which do not require an immediate medical procedure or consultation with a specialist. This establishment spanning 802 m2 offers a plethora of emergency services in addition to eighteen welcome and observation beds.
