Services

Swiss Ambulance Rescue’s principal calling is transporting the injured and sick, addressing emergency situations, and ensuring inter-hospital transport and European repatriation.

Emergencies

Swiss Ambulance Rescue is first and foremost a service designated to assist and help others. Our emergency teams, available 24/7, are always ready to bring help to those that are sick or have been injured.

Mandated by 144, the central emergency call unit, our teams are trained to aid people that are physically or mentally suffering.

In addition, our teams are attentive to and support the entourage of the person that is ill. It should be noted that our teams are led to provide care both during the day and at night, in public or within health care institutions (including both public and private clinics).

With the goal of providing patients with complete care, our emergency teams regularly collaborate with different rescue partners, such as SMUR, firefighters, police officers, or Rega.

We respond to more than 9,000 emergency cases and 5,500 non-emergency cases and transports (bariatric and incubator) per year.

IMPORTANT: Our teams wish to remind you that the emergency phone number to call for their assistance is 144.

Transfers

Our transport teams are available 24/7 to provide transportation to and from another health care site for all hospitalized patients.

This transportation is for immobile patients or those that require continuous medical surveillance.

The crew comprising of an ambulance technician and an ambulance driver with extensive CPR training will do everything possible to provide a comfortable and safe journey.

Swiss Ambulance Rescue provides the 144 call center with a Geneva University Hospital transport team. This team is mandated by the 144 call center to transport patients from one Geneva University Hospital to another.

Swiss Ambulance Rescue also provides a “private” transport team in order to respond to requests from outside partners, such as private clinics. However, this team can also provide inter-Geneva University Hospital transports in cases of high demand. Swiss Ambulance Rescue’s two main goals are to preserve the well-being of the patient and to be available for our different partners.

Repatriations

If you are hospitalized abroad and wish to return to your home canton or city, our department will undertake the organization of your full repatriation by means of transportation that is most adapted to your needs, whether that be by airplane, train, ambulance, or patient transport car.

For cases of ambulance transport, you will be taken care of a team comprised of an ambulance technician and an ambulance driver, both who have followed extensive CPR training.

CeThese teams are created to provide you with a journey that is both medically and personally comfortable. This particularly appreciated service is made possible thanks to cooperation with the following partners: Rega, SOS International, Europe Assistance, CNAS, amongst others.

Note: if you do not have health insurance, it is always possible to receive a quote for private repatriation.
